Hajj 2027 is expected to run from Friday, May 14, 2027 to Wednesday, May 19, 2027, with the Day of Arafah on Saturday, May 15, 2027, if Saudi Arabia’s dates are one day ahead of Pakistan’s as usual. Saudi Arabia’s official announcement of the Dhul Hijjah moon decides the final dates, so treat these as expected.
Hajj 2027 day by day
The table shows the expected dates in Saudi Arabia, which are what count for pilgrims, alongside the same Hijri date in Pakistan’s calendar.
| Hijri date | Day | Expected in Saudi Arabia | Same Hijri date in Pakistan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 Dhul Hijjah | Yawm al-Tarwiyah | Fri, May 14 | Sat, May 15 |
| 9 Dhul Hijjah | Day of Arafah | Sat, May 15 | Sun, May 16 |
| 10 Dhul Hijjah | Yawm al-Nahr, Eid ul Adha | Sun, May 16 | Mon, May 17 |
| 11 Dhul Hijjah | Day of Tashreeq | Mon, May 17 | Tue, May 18 |
| 12 Dhul Hijjah | Day of Tashreeq | Tue, May 18 | Wed, May 19 |
| 13 Dhul Hijjah | Day of Tashreeq | Wed, May 19 | Thu, May 20 |
If Saudi Arabia and Pakistan begin Dhul Hijjah on the same day, the two columns will match, and the Day of Arafah and Eid will fall on the same dates in both countries. Our Day of Arafah countdown follows the Pakistani date, used for fasting in Pakistan.
What happens on each day
8 Dhul Hijjah: Yawm al-Tarwiyah
Pilgrims enter ihram (if not already) and go to Mina, where they pray and spend the night.
9 Dhul Hijjah: Day of Arafah
Pilgrims stand at Arafat from midday to sunset, then move to Muzdalifah for the night.
10 Dhul Hijjah: Yawm al-Nahr, Eid ul Adha
Stoning of the largest pillar (Jamarat al-Aqabah), sacrifice, shaving or trimming the hair, and Tawaf al-Ifadah.
11 Dhul Hijjah: Day of Tashreeq
Back in Mina: stoning of all three pillars after midday.
12 Dhul Hijjah: Day of Tashreeq
Stoning of the three pillars again. Pilgrims may leave Mina before sunset.
13 Dhul Hijjah: Day of Tashreeq
Pilgrims who stay in Mina stone the pillars once more, then leave.
The order of the rites on the 10th varies a little between schools of thought, and pilgrims follow the guidance of their group’s scholar. Pilgrims performing Hajj Tamattu, the most common type for people travelling from Pakistan, also perform an Umrah before the 8th.
Before the Hajj days
Pilgrims usually arrive in Saudi Arabia during Dhul Qadah and the first days of Dhul Hijjah. Flights from Pakistan under the government scheme and private operators normally start several weeks before Hajj. The 1st of Dhul Hijjah is expected in Saudi Arabia on Friday, May 7, 2027.
Pakistan’s Hajj policy, quota, application dates and costs are announced each year by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Check its official notices for the current year rather than relying on older figures.
How Hajj relates to Eid ul Adha in Pakistan
Eid ul Adha falls on 10 Dhul Hijjah, the day after Arafah. In Pakistan it is expected on Monday, May 17, 2027, which is one day after the expected Eid in Saudi Arabia. The difference comes from Pakistan’s separate moon sighting, as explained in our guide to moon sighting in Pakistan.
For families at home, this matters for two things: fasting on the Day of Arafah, and timing qurbani. Most people in Pakistan follow the local calendar for both, though scholars differ on whether the Arafah fast should follow the day the pilgrims are at Arafat. Read more in our Eid ul Adha 2027 guide, or follow the Eid ul Adha countdown.
Weather during Hajj 2027
Hajj 2027 falls in late spring. Days in Makkah and Mina are already very hot at this time of year, so pilgrims are advised to drink plenty of water, use umbrellas and rest in the shade during the hottest hours. Hajj will keep moving about 11 days earlier each year, into cooler months over the coming decade.

In Pakistan’s calendar it is expected on Sunday, May 16, 2027, depending on the moon sighting.
