Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin in Pakistan on Tuesday, February 9, 2027, one day after Saudi Arabia, as is usual. In Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirms the start after looking for the new moon on the evening of 29 Sha’ban, so the first roza may fall one day later, on Wednesday, February 10, 2027.
That puts the first taraweeh prayers on the night before the first fast. If the month runs its expected 29 days, Eid ul Fitr 2027 would fall on Wednesday, March 10, 2027, again depending on the moon.
How long will the fasts be?
Ramadan 2027 falls in February and March, at the end of winter. The days are fairly short, which makes the fasts easier than the long summer fasts of recent years. In Lahore the first roza lasts about 12.3 hours from sehri to iftar, and the days get longer by around a minute each day through the month.
Sehri and iftar on the first and last roza
| City | First sehri | First iftar | Last sehri | Last iftar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Karachi | 5:53 AM | 6:22 PM | 5:31 AM | 6:37 PM |
| Lahore | 5:27 AM | 5:43 PM | 5:00 AM | 6:06 PM |
| Islamabad | 5:33 AM | 5:46 PM | 5:04 AM | 6:10 PM |
These times are calculated with the Karachi method that most mosques in Pakistan follow. Sehri ends at Fajr, and many mosques stop a few minutes earlier as a precaution. For the full day-by-day timetable, open your city’s Ramadan timings page, where you can also print a one-page calendar.
Getting ready
Ramadan is also when most people in Pakistan pay zakat. If you’re working out yours, our zakat calculator adds up gold, silver, savings and business stock and checks it against the nisab. You can also count down the days on the Ramadan countdown.
