About Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice, falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, during the Hajj pilgrimage. Families who can afford it sacrifice an animal and share the meat with relatives and people in need.
Eid al-Adha is set by the Islamic lunar calendar, so it comes about 11 days earlier each year. In 2027 it lands on a Monday, in week 20 of the year. Expected date in Pakistan. Pakistan usually marks Islamic dates one day after Saudi Arabia, and the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirms the final date after the moon is sighted.
