Digital Tasbeeh Counter: How to Keep Count of Your Dhikr

A digital tasbeeh counter lets you count your dhikr on your phone instead of beads: tap a large button once for each count, and the counter keeps the number for you. Our online tasbeeh counter stops at a target such as 33 or 100, counts completed rounds, and remembers your totals on your device, so you can carry on later.

Below is how to use it, the counts many people keep after salah, and a few practical tips for using a phone for dhikr.

How to use the tasbeeh counter

  1. Choose the dhikr. Tap the name you’re reading: SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, Astaghfirullah, La ilaha illallah, Durood, or “My own dhikr” for anything else.
  2. Set a target. Each phrase starts with a common target (33 for SubhanAllah, 100 for Astaghfirullah). You can change it to 33, 34, 99, 100, 300, 500, 1,000 or no limit.
  3. Tap the big round button once for each count. On a computer, the space bar or Enter key also adds a count.
  4. Watch the rounds. When you reach the target, the round count goes up by one and the counter goes back to zero.
  5. Fix mistakes. Tapped twice? Press − 1. To start over, press Reset count twice; your daily and all-time totals are kept.

Tasbih Fatimah: 33, 33 and 34

A widely known practice is to read three phrases after each obligatory prayer, often called Tasbih Fatimah:

PhraseCount
SubhanAllah33
Alhamdulillah33
Allahu Akbar34
Total100

Some people read Allahu Akbar 33 times instead of 34, and there are other reported forms as well. Scholars differ on the details, so for the exact wording and counts you follow, rely on your teacher or a scholar you trust. The counter simply helps you keep the number right.

To read Tasbih Fatimah with the counter, pick SubhanAllah (target 33), tap through to the end of the round, then switch to Alhamdulillah (33) and Allahu Akbar (34). Each phrase resets the count when you switch, so you always start the next one from zero.

Daily counts add up

Many people set themselves a daily wird. The “Today” and “All time” boxes in the counter make it easy to see how you’re doing. Here is what some common routines come to:

RoutinePer dayPer weekPer 30 days
Tasbih Fatimah after each of 5 prayers5003,50015,000
100 Astaghfirullah daily1007003,000
300 durood daily3002,1009,000
1,000 of any dhikr daily1,0007,00030,000

These are just examples of how the numbers grow. The aim is regular remembrance, not a high score, so choose an amount you can keep up.

Tips for using your phone

Vibration

On most Android phones, the counter gives a short buzz on each tap and a longer double buzz when a round is complete, so you can count without looking at the screen. You can turn this off with the Vibrate button. iPhones don’t let websites use vibration, so on an iPhone keep an eye on the round counter instead.

Keeping your count

Your count, rounds and totals are saved on your device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. That also means the count stays on that phone and that browser: if you clear your browser data, use a private window or switch phones, it starts from zero again. The “Today” total resets at midnight.

Staying focused

  • Turn on Do Not Disturb so notifications don’t break your concentration.
  • Lower the screen brightness if you read dhikr at night or after Fajr.
  • Add the page to your home screen so it opens with one tap, like an app.
  • Some people prefer beads during salah-related dhikr and use the phone for longer counts while travelling or waiting. Both work; use what helps you.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tasbeeh counter work if my internet drops?

Yes. Once the page has opened, each tap is counted on your phone itself and saved there, so a weak connection doesn’t interrupt your count.

Why doesn’t my iPhone vibrate when I count?

Apple doesn’t allow websites to use the vibration motor on iPhones. Android browsers usually do. On an iPhone, watch the round counter instead.

Is Tasbih Fatimah 33 or 34 Allahu Akbar?

Many people read Allahu Akbar 34 times to complete 100; others read 33. Scholars mention different reports, so follow what your teacher or scholar teaches.

Will I lose my count if I close the page?

No. The tasbeeh counter saves your count on this device and browser, so you can carry on later. Clearing browser data will reset it.
