How it works
A regular slotted box blank is (2 × length + 2 × width + glue flap) by (height + width). A half slotted box has flaps on one side only, so the width is height + half the width. A full overlap box has flaps the full width of the box.
The layout tries the blanks both ways round, and a mix of both, to fit the most on each sheet.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a standard corrugated sheet?
Sheet sizes vary by plant. Common sizes are around 160 × 120 cm and 200 × 140 cm, and many plants cut to order.
Should I use inside or outside box size?
Use the inside size. The scoring allowances for board thickness are small and usually handled by the box plant.
